Career Research Project

My name is Chris Baldwin. A senior at Curie High school. Im currently a Running Back for the Curie football team, but with my talent and abilities, I want to be a professional Running Back. Thats the big goal!!!! Not only do I want to make it, I want to become a legend. I want to make history. Of course Im doing it for the money; but I'm also doing it for my family, dead friends, and for my neighborhood. Im chasing dreams.

This Job has been relevant to the United States since August 20th, 1920. The National Football league has exsist for more than 95 years now. It started with two teams, each team had at least two or three Running Backs. Now there are 32 NFL teams and each team has at least 4 Running Backs and at least two Running Backs on the practice squad. One of the best Running Backs of all times is Walter Payton, he played for the Chicago Bears from 1975-1987. A current great Running Back is Marshawn Lynch. What made them so successful, they trained hard; they did over time with working out and practice. But some came with pure god given talent.

In order to get into the NFL, you have to at least have two years of college. This particular job does not really require a major but a good one to take is physical therapy. With that major they can learn how to avoid or recover from an injury because Running Backs do have the most injuries in the National Football League. Basically any college with a football team can make it to the NFL but its more likely for a Running Back from a Division one FBS college to make to the league. University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Northern Illinois, and North Western University are all FBS colleges. One of my goals is to train everyday, doing something than will make me a better Running Back. Other jobs related is to play Running Back for the Canadian football league or be a Wide Receiver for  the Arena football league because Arena don't have any Running Backs.

Some of the daily duties is to of course practice with my team, but also jog/run in the morning and get a work out in before I go to sleep. In practice we are going to do drills and go over plays. Practice will usually go for about two to three hours. We are going to practice on one of our practice fields out in the suburbs. The income will be a million but of course tax is going to take out a lot of that. Its salary with a contract.

One of the most challenging things about this job is the injuries, and not starting because you can get cut or traded if they feel that you're not contributing to the team. The positive is that I can get endorsements and bonuses based on how many touchdowns or yards I get. Right now in Chicago, Matt Forte is the running back. He has been the starting running back for the Chicago Bears since 2008.

Basically I honestly think without football, the united states will not be the same. This career is a great one for me. Its something that i wanted to do my whole life.
